I am 4 weeks and 1 day po. I don’t know all of the proper terms for everything I had done but in plain English I had an ACL reconstruction with my hamstring my mcl was repaired with stitches I had all the cartilage shaved and smoothed and a bone chip was fixed on my tibia.
On Memorial Day I was coming up the steps to the front of my house with crutches one slipped and to keep myself from falling I put my non weight bearing foot down to catch myself. My knee popped as it did the day I injured it.
For a few days following that my knee was VERY sore to the touch and just in general then it seemed to get some what better but didn’t feel like it did before the incident with the steps. When I am doing my excerises at home or at pt the inside front of my knee feels like it is ripping apart. Now that I am weight bearing my knee hurts ALL THE TIME. I am still only at 90 degrees flexion with assistance and 65 on my own.
I am going to see the surgeon today and I am supposed to return to work tomorrow. I am not able to tolerate riding in the front seat of my car or to have my foot not elevated for more than 15 min.
Has anyone else experienced anything like this? I am afraid that my doctor is going to tell me to return to work tomorrow and I’m not sure what I am going to do.
