I have a query regarding unpaid leaves. Currently as trust grade SHO

I am changing departments within my trust. I want to have a break and go back home for like 14 days, and because I have used up all my annual leaves (😅) I asked the HR department who were kind to advise me to take unpaid leaves to prevent affecting my ‘NHS continuous service’.

My query is does it affect my future ILR application? Is there a safe limit of how many days someone can take unpaid leaves?

Thank you for your kind answers.

If it is authorised by the employer then it does not affect ILR

Thank you for the information. Do I still have to ask them to prepare a letter to me explaining my unpaid leave?

better as soon as possible … you dont know what future holds and make it difficult to get letter years later

Actually, I was given 3 years BRP. So I just completed 1 year of my job, and changing to another department. Basically this means that they just have to update the UKBA and I do not have to change my visa or BRP at all. Now because I am moving over to new department, they cannot give me those leaves as annual leaves
