I have few doubts in pathology module of cell injury…
(1) According to ma’am, detachment of ribosomes from RER leads to decrease protein synthesis and increased lipid synthesis ( fatty change)…But according to Robbins(10e- page 51) phospholipid biosynthesis decreases ( since it is an anabolic process requiring ATP). Kindly confirm which is correct??
Decreased phospholipid synthesis. The prodcution of phospholipids in cells may be reduced as a consequence of defective mitochondrial function or hyopxia ,both of which decrease ATP producion and thus affect energy
dependent biosynthetic pathways.Decreased phospholipid synthesis may affect all cellular membranes including those of mitochondira.
