I’ve been offered Trust grade CT1 in Surgery (12 months) at Kingston Hospital Trust and SHO Medicine (6 months EAU + 6 months Gastro) at Salford Royal Trust.
I have no preconceived propensity towards either of these branches and am open to building a career in either.
Any inputs and advice on these programmes and/or the trusts will be appreciated, so that I can take a call.
That’s amazing! Not sure about Kingston but Salford is a really good hospital, I’ve been told it’s well supported with a lot of opportunities for learning! I’m sure you’ll be great at whichever one you choose I totally forgot, it also depends on what your plans for training are, although it’s good to have an open mind!
I have MRCS and FCPS degree( 4 years training in Pakistan) in general surgery and now working as consultant surgeon
awesome but you need to be registered with the GMC. Once you’re registered with GMC, it’s all sorted. One of my registrars was almost a consultant in Egypt with all the qualifications. He then applied for gmc registration, applied for SHO level job to orient himself, then six months into his SHOship, they promoted him to registrar level.
