I went to an immunologist and he sent me to do some bloodwork

Hello dear eczema sufferers,

I went to an immunologist and he sent me to do some bloodwork, urine/stool analysis etc. Anyway, I did the tests a couple weeks ago and, as expected, IgE is trough the roof. So is stool calprotectin, which is a marker for an inflammatory bowel disease (IBD). I also have an iron and D vitamin defficiency. I’ve been on a carnivore diet for a month now and my skin is doing slightly better.

Anyone done similar bloodwork? I’m particularly interested in calprotectin, since people with AD have gut issues. Do any of you have IBD along with AD and has the dermatitis subsided in relation to alleviating the bowel problems?

Also, have you managed to get your doctors to test you for specific IgE related to nutrition? A multitude of specialists keeps telling me my AD has nothing to do with food so there’s no need to be tested, but that just doesn’t sound right. Thanks
