If asked abt portal htn the hpvg value is more than 5 or more than 10 mm Hg
Here explaination says more than 5 mm Hg
Also it is more than 12mm hg of portal vein
-more than 5 is suggestive of phtn. pt remains asymptomatic here.
-10 - 12 pt is symptomatic and variceal bleed can happen any time
-more than 20 suspect rupture of varices already.
More than 5 is Portal HTN(asymptomatic) but clinically significant portal HTN is when it’s more than 10( patient will come with symptoms)
