Admin please approve this post I’m writing second time… I’m Confused between general surgery and orthopaedics. Liked both during internship but was more inclined towards general surgery… now given the scenario of violence and need of superspeciality I’m afraid of taking general surgery coz i dont knw if the zeal of studying for another 3yrs after PG when i will have a family life will b there or not(I’ll be 27yrs old in November)… also getting settled in general surgery takes more time and I’m the first doctor of my family or any of the distant relatives and there’s this thing of getting settled early…but whenever i decide like giving up general surgery and taking orthopaedics i feel like I’m leaving something and also i feel like what if i cant b happy with ortho in future… I tried visiting my UG hospital talked to many residents there but they all have a different answer and bit biased…if there’s any PG or anyone who was with the same dilemma I’m in right now kindly help me selecting my branch…its really important …if u felt it somewhere you’ll know how tricky the situation is…so pls dont mock… I’m asking seriously and i want some real advice…thnk you
Don’t cry.I will say take Orthopedics because you will enjoy both suturing (only thing I love) and earning quick, and if determined and a bit smart, you will earn loads of money.Age is an important factor, but if you are a boy it actually does not matter.
