In hypercalcemic Crisis there is no role of Lasix(loop diuretic) as mentioned in lectures
But in qbank it’s mentioned intial management is IV saline with loop diuretics??
Consider IV loop diuretic ( eg, IV furosemide) ONLY if there are signs of volume overload ( eg, pulmonary congestion, significant peripheral edema)
The routine use of loop diuretics to increase urine calcium excretion in patients with severe hypercalcemia is no longer recommended given the lack of supportive evidence and the potential for worsening electrolyte abnormalities and volume depletion
We can do forced diuresis with help of drip, bolus is C/I
