in MRI basic you told that T1W is for anatomical images and T2Wnfor pathological images
So why in colloid cyst hyperdense lesion appear on T1W

Hi Utsav. Yes T1W - Anatomic imaging & T2W - Pathology Imaging - but this is just a broad conceptual description. Majority of Colloid cysts appear T1 hyperintense because they are rich in Cholesterol or Mucin(protiens) & both of these are hyperintense on T1.

The composition of the cyst determines its signal intensity on T1W images - and most of them are hyperintense.
