India wants super specialists.
India holds competitive test to decide merit. Admissions are given on merit. So far so good.
But Health ministry has another fatwa: there are cutoff marks below which admissions are denied.
Result: hundreds of admissions are denied.
Result: Hundreds of seats are kept vacant due to cut-off marks.
Result: precious seats are wasted every year.
Similar situation in UG and PG medical seats.
Fact- seats are vacant because fee is high; not because cut off is high. Cut off is very much at where it should be and does its job perfectly!
