Keratoacanthoma:
-It is a skin condition often classified as a cancerous growth.
-It is considered by some as a variant of squamous cell carcinoma (SCC).
-It displays rapid growth in a symmetrical fashion.
-Clinically it is dome-shaped and has a central plug.
-On Histological examination of a punch biopsy, it cannot be differentiated from squamous cell carcinoma.
-It is often excised as early as possible because it tends to leave unsightly scars if it is left to grow and involute.
