Lumbar puncture is contraindicated in raised ICP. So how do we get to know whether ICP raised without inserting needle?

Lumbar puncture is contraindicated in raised ICP. So how do we get to know whether ICP raised without inserting needle?

On CT or MRI we can see large dilated ventricle - suggest ICP is raised

but is it recommended to go for ct / mri before LP

that I doubt, may be we can do it in suspected patient

Indication for imaging before lp- FAILS - P

Focal neurological deficits

Altered mental status

Immunodeficiency

Low GCS

Seizures

Papilloedema

Widened Pulse pressure

Projectile Vomiting

Bradycardia

Irregular respiration

Papilledmea

Always do ophthalmoscopy before LP, to rule out papilledema
