My therapist just told me that getting professionally done acrylic nails greatly helps her Dermatitis on her fingers every single time. She’s had it done at least 10 times. It must be some chemical in that process.
She doesn’t think it’s cuticle oil. Either that or cuticle oil is maybe not a part of that process, I can’t remember.
Anyone else? Have you maybe also experienced this/ heard of this?
Not recommending it nor not recommending, just putting it out there. Her Dr. was stunned.
It is probably because she itches less aggressively with the acrylic. Natural nails are very harsh on the skin and cause more damage than artificial nails (assuming they are not the extra pointy version). I have a cosmetology license and for me many of the chemicals in nail and hair agents exacerbate my skin.
