Preexisting renal insufficiency (estimated glomerular filtration rate (eGFR) <60 ml/min) and diabetes mellitus are the most important patient-related risk factors for Contrast-induced nephropathy (CIN). Others, include age >70 years, uncontrolled hypertension, hypotension requiring inotropes, congestive heart failure (CHF), use of intra-aortic balloon pump (IABP), anemia, hypoalbuminemia, and liver cirrhosis. Metabolic syndrome as such is not considered as a single entity risk factor. Thank you.
