People say take dat branch in which u have passion fir chaahe 1 yr drop ho ya 2 yr… Can sm1 tell me y people take radio den…radio me to dey dnt even go to postings in UG… Jst pay is more dey r ready to take non clinical radio branch in which dey didnt even go in UG dept…
Seen so many people who used to say dat i will take paeds, i will take med and open clinic, i will do surgery… Bt after neet and getting gud rank suddenly things changes to radio… And many toppers do dat… And later dese people say to juniors take ur dream branch u have to live with it whole life
I always wanted to take med… Bt somehow i got a rank which made me take radio in the first place… Luckily i could correct my decision without wasting my year and also somebody else’s as i resigned from that seat in 10 days of joining… Radio wasn’t my cup of tea… I just went with the flow, leaving my passion aside and had joined radiology… Bt what my passion was, ultimately i came down to it
My friends did criticise me for my decision to leave radio for medicine, bt I’m probably proud of my decision… As u said, go for ur dream branch, radio toh moh maya hai
glad to hear that buddy…
well could u pls help me out…
found that u r attchd wth M P Shah ned clg,jamnagar…
how is MD Anaesthesia there??..
Stipened…??
i actually did my first year mbbs from Jamnagar…
As an institute, it is good… Not very certain abt the anaesthesia dept
There r many people who take anaesthesia, Optha, ENT, pathology by dere choice inspite of getting gud rank… Bt still these branches dont get d respect as other branches… I dk y
People say if u want easy going life, Gud money den take radio… Y not anaesthesia… vo to clinical bhi hai… Usme bhi u have time for urself…u even manage pt in ICU… Den y nt anaesthesia
some ppl like the idea of no emergencies …less patient contact…its their own interest
Anesthesia is good. It’s not given priority only in india. It’s one of the most wanted branch all over the world. You can easily match for most residency programs abroad. In EU, US, UK, AUSTRALIA anesthesiologist get paid equal if not more than surgeons for a sx, shit u not! . So it’s really a hidden gem. People don’t know about it that’s the only reason. Only reason to take radio and derm is to do nothing and get paid. In anesth u do something at the start and end of a sx for 10 mins and get paid for it and if you are in the mood for the adrenaline rush, u can always get icu postings and critical care to experience the thrill of catching hold the life that’s is slowly drifting away. There are MCh gastro surgeons who get to do independent Whipple only In their 40s , also there are anesthesiologists practicing cardiac anesthesia and critical care abroad in their 30s. Eventually the only difference is your view on the subject.
It’s for the same reason why school students who have passion in music, literature, history etc end up taking Mbbs.
In so many years as a UG i cant understand y anaesthesia is underrated inspite of being a clinical branch… And radio is overrated being non clinical…
we all know anatomy physio biochem is d pillar of our entrance in medical field.still no 1 within 10k opt for it… Don’t know y
Dear, it all depends from person to person and their situation. Some have a passion but they don’t get their dream branch. Some have achieved a dream rank but arr confused in branch. Some are focussed much on earning big bucks where as few are not in a mood to take a stressful life as a option. In reality, it’s hard to follow what you actually believe in.
Let their be confusion. It’s better just to be happy for now because one day everyone out their is going to have a realization of what they did and if it is actually making them happy.
Why people say radio is money earning branch…even though it has no patient contact and it’s dependent branch…can anyone explain pls
People say opening level jobs in Radio are 2.5-3 lakh. But I feel it is more of a hearsay. I have personally seen a Radiologist struggle to get a job in a small lab. And that is definitely not 2.5-3 lakh salary as it is hyped. If you want higher paying salaries, you will have to work as hard as any other speciality, may be even work night shifts or double shifts at major corporate hospitals. However if you choose a lab where you just have a 9-5 job, you compromise on the pay. Also I have seen some Radiologists doing USG for merely 200-300 rs. I have seen Radiologists been sent to jail under PNDT. So it is really dependent on you - if you want to earn money you will have to work hard no matter which branch you choose.
P. S. I myself have chosen MS OBGY over MD RADIOLOGY. How right or wrong the decision is only time will tell.
