Question to the anesthesiologists: despite that system works against you

Question to the anesthesiologists: despite that system works against you, no recognition or sometimes (read many a times) no appreciation from fellow colleagues, stagnant pay at later stages of life, what makes you get out of bed and choose to practice Anesthesiology everyday?

If you could go back, would you change your field of work?

If there’s already so much hardwork, so much to study, in this field as well, why not choose medicine? (a question for those who have done Anesthesiology by choice, not by chance)

(A sincere question, from a potential future MD Anesthesiology resident)

(please no mocking, sincerely need some insights)

Thank you in advance.

If you want to earn too much in late stage of life then this branch is not for you… Anaesthesiologist can start his/her own ICU for exponential earning and private clinics too(based on his/her clinical skills)…

Anesthesia is a good branch. Very less numbers of training seats, leading to paucity.

Free lancing gives payment per hour.

In Gujarat, we are paying Rs 3000 for first hour, spinal or general anesthesia, as decided by local association. Anesthetist keep surgeons in queue.
