Ophthalmology is a good branch and once you enter the branch you are gonna know more about the beauty of the branch…
You are gonna have patients of all age group… variety of cases and variety of procedures…blood less , less hectic…good amount of patients…you can do opd and OT.
Dealing with the smallest suture 10-0 is highly fascinating…it’s a highly skilled branch and to master ophthalmic surgery is difficult…
There is no long long OT except except few cases of retina…
Earning wise sky is the limit if you are in private practice.
Even you are in government setup, you can join private setup and earn much…
And if you are skilled you are never jobless.

While in MBBS , I also didn’t know much about ophthalmology…but now in my residency I feel lucky and graceful that I got ophthalmology… ophthalmology is highly advance branch now…

If ur parents is opthalm then take it… It becoming more and more saturated in metro cities… nowdays…

Every branch is saturated and opportunities are always there who are good in their respective branches…
