Since the baby is born at 32 weeks, he’ll take another 8 weeks (out of those 6 months of age at which he is brought for evaluation) to reach complete 40 weeks. Whatever remains is the age used for developmental assessment of the child.
In this case 6 months minus 8 weeks equals 4 months or 16 weeks.
Corrected age (in weeks) = (Gestational age + postnatal age) - 40 weeks
