So the two things I learnt from the MRCP 2 exam today are:

  1. Don’t waste time reading the textbooks like Maghrabi notes. Only doing Passtest or PassMedicine will suffice. No matter how many facts and figures you memorise during your prep, when it comes to the D-day, you will hardly have time or the mental capacity to visualise those pages you read or the facts you memorised so well during your preps. So do as many questions as possible rather than wasting time on reading the theory books.

  2. Your clinical experience counts alot whilst you are attempting the questions. When you are under time constraint and are skimming the stems while your head is spinning and your mind keeps wandering away, the one thing that keeps things under perspective is your past clinical experience. Maybe a case you managed or maybe the steps you took in making a difficult diagnosis.

P.S: that is just my personal opinion and inference from today’s exam. Constructive criticism is welcome.
