The abdominopelvic region can be divided into nine regions, which are commonly used to describe the location of organs, structures, and pain sensations in the area. These regions are:

  1. Right Hypochondriac Region: located in the upper right corner of the abdomen, it contains the liver, gallbladder, and right kidney.
  2. Epigastric Region: located in the upper middle part of the abdomen, it contains the stomach, pancreas, and spleen.
  3. Left Hypochondriac Region: located in the upper left corner of the abdomen, it contains the spleen, left kidney, and part of the pancreas.
  4. Right Lumbar Region: located on the right side of the umbilical region, it contains the ascending colon and part of the small intestine.
  5. Umbilical Region: located around the navel, it contains the transverse colon, small intestine, and part of the large intestine.
  6. Left Lumbar Region: located on the left side of the umbilical region, it contains the descending colon and part of the small intestine.

  8. Hypogastric Region: located in the lower middle part of the abdomen, it contains the bladder, reproductive organs, and part of the small intestine.
