Frey’s Syndrome

→ , auriculotemporal syndrome, or Frey-Baillarger syndrome

→ Rare neurological disorder due to damage to auriculotemporal N.

→ Often results as a side effect of surgeries or due to injury to auriculotemporal N., which passes through or near the parotid gland.

Signs and symptoms

→ Erythema (redness/flushing) and sweating in the cutaneous distribution of the auriculotemporal nerve, usually in response to gustatory stimuli.
