sorry for the long post…
the orthopedic doctor told me yesterday that my acl is loose not torn, yet the MRI report states it appears torn.
needless to say that I asked him a lot of questions yesterday
like will the recovery be the same as my acl reconstruction surgery if I have the revision done… he replied yes.
I asked him why no weight bearing, and why a brace for eight weeks, he replied that is the way Cleveland University does it…
next we asked him approximately how long the procedure would take in the operating room he replied for the ACL and both meniscus an hour and fifteen minutes…
I asked him about the procedure for just the meniscus as he said that my ACL does not need to be done, but it could cause damage to my meniscus. He said fifteen minutes.
Having been to to other doctors having four previous knee surgeries, I’m sorry I was not comfortable with his answers as far as time, or lack of concern. Especially when I had an orthopedic surgeon who is a professor of sports medicine say roughly two and a half hours for the procedure.
I have been told that I have a lot of arthritis in the knee from past damage. The ACL is not causing my knee to be unstable just pain at times.
not sure if the surgery is worth scheduling again or just dealing with it?
— feeling confused.
