The radiographs below are of a 5-year-old patient with cerebral palsy (CP) with criteria meeting Gross Motor Function Classification System (GMFCS) level V. His mother is having difficulty taking care of him and he has pain and difficulty with sitting in association with coxa valga and left hip dislocation, making him an operative candidate. Adductor release will improve hygiene, and the varus procedure will correct the coxa valga and reduce the left hip dislocation.

A bilateral procedure is required to maintain symmetry for sitting. Acetabular osteotomies are controversial and could be done in one-stage surgery or later if significant dysplasia develops.
