What is the difference between Megaloblastic and Non megaloblastic anaemia, both being Macrocytic?
Hypersegmented Neutrophils (> 5 lobes) - megaloblastic anemia
No hypersegmented neutrophils - nonmegaloblastic anemia
Peripheral blood smear is the initial investigation for macrocytic anemia to look for megaloblastic changes ( hypersegmented neutrophils)
