What’s the role of cl in metabolic alkalosis?

And how can fruosemide affect cl?

Cl- is an osmotically active agent so Loss of Cl- will cause loss of body volume and will contract plasma so will cause fall in GFR . Fall in GFR will stimulate RAAS which will cause H+ loss from distal tubules and metabolic alkalosis. So replacing Iv fluids with KCl is used for management of metabolic alkalosis. Furosemide and thiazide cause loss of Na-Cl from kidney which again contract volume and cause alkalosis
