Indications
The indications for lung transplantation span the gamut of lung diseases. The distribution reflects the prevalence and natural history of the diseases, and the most common indications are chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF), cystic fibrosis (CF), 1-antitrypsin deficiency emphysema, and primary pulmonary hypertension (PPH). “Others” in Table comprise many less prevalent lung diseases.
