Who's in your band and what do they play?

Who’s in your band and what do they play?
Lawrence Brown drums, Peter Visocchi bass, Bernard Williams’s guitar, Eugene Ritchie guitar/keys/vocals, we all like to throw the occasional backing vocal around as well.

Where are you from?
We come from all over Fife but mainly play our gigs in Dundee.

What’s the most bizarre thing to happen while you were onstage?
Craziest thing that’s happened to us on stage is probably two of our straps coming clean off in two consecutive songs. Had to drop to the floor to play our parts.

What is the writing process like for new songs?
In terms of writing songs, one person usually comes in with a riff or a section, and as a group we expand that, adding chords and melody. We also like to chuck in a twist to any song we write, like a key change or unexpected bridge.

Where did your bands name come from?
As for our band name, our bassist Peter was in the chippy with his dad and heard him say the word “mnemonic”. He found out that the word had as cool a meaning as it did a sound and the rest is history.

Are your lyrics generic or based on real experiences?
We all share our part in the lyric writing, from song to song though it depends, sometimes the Lyrical idea is at the forefront of the song writing and sometimes we do it the other way round, building words around how the song sounds and speaks to us. The song writing process is important to us and the meaning to our lyrics come as the song progresses. We never set out to write a song about a certain topic but they usually end up with some sort of theme or story.

Do you have any music out currently or have anything up and coming?
We have an EP out on iTunes and bandcamp that we are dead proud of and we are hoping to record some more when our new tunes are ready, we are writing all the time.

What are your immediate music career goals? (Next 1 to 3 years.)
We’d love to make more of a name for ourselves, widen our fan area to outside our local area, gigging new places is something we are really looking to do now and ideally would love to have a hit single or two.

Favourite song ever and why?
Our band favourite all time song is Blame it on the Boogie by The Jacksons.
