why don’t we do post prandial blood glucose level here?

A/c to ADA diagnosis of DM can be made with

  1. FPG or

  2. Hba1c or

  3. 2hr PG with OGTT or

  4. Random PG when PATIENT IS HAVING CLASSICAL SYMPTOMS OF HYPERGLYCEMIA .

Post prandial PG is not included in diagnostic criteria

And as here patient is not having any symptoms so we won’t do Random BG . So we are left with above 3 options which are FPG / Hba1c / OGTT

As all these 3 are not given in option so we will go with Fasting and Hba1c . Also because OGTT is a time taking and cumbersome for patients so we can avoid
