Why drinking ice water is dangerous?

As soon as it starts getting hot, the first reflex we have is drinking water out of a refrigerator, or containing ice cubes. This habit can have harmful effects on our health. Here are some reasons to limit refrigerated water consumption.

1-She Slows Down Digestion

Drinking ice water hinders the process of digesting food, because it causes your blood vessels to shrink. This can slow down the digestion process, and when food is not digested properly, nutrients are lost, or not absorbed by the body. This can cause many health problems.

2-She can cause sore throat

Drinking ice water can cause the respiratory mucosa to be aggressive, which is a protective layer of the airway. When this layer is heavy, the airways are exposed, and become fragile to various infections. Thus, the risks of catching sore throats are higher.

3-It causes nutrient shortage

Drinking ice water can disrupt the functioning of the immune system (corresponds to all the body’s defense mechanisms), and make the body more susceptible to diseases like flu, cold, and other infections.

After the workout

In the case of a person returning from sport and whose body needs imminent rehydration, it would be inadequate to drink ice water. This would impose extra work on his organization. Of course, the body has a need for water, but it is flat water. The well-being you feel while drinking chilled water, is, in fact, just an appearance.
