Why should service doctors need reservation ??
An average pass out MBBS - Working a 6 hour - 8 hour shift in a private medical establishment gets around 35-40 K rs per month.
And a hospital which is going to pay 40,000 rs will have a tight schedule for the doctor working there. There are places with less work and they are paid less.
MRB recruited doctors get more than the above mentioned salary with - So obviously the work done will be more. - including the records, the public awareness and meetings with the various allied health department - that’s the job description. Telling that as an excuse is wrong, totally wrong.
Now let’s come to another argument put forth - The government is trying to attract more Dr’s to join service ?? - Really ?
The total number of TN students passing out every year. - 5,000.
The last announced MRB (2018) - less than 500 vacancies.
MRB is supposed to be scheduled once in two years. And let’s say the govt is recruiting double the number of students - even then every year 4000. students cannot get into the service for no fault theirs.
Next trouble - TN govt enforcing bond for PG students joining via the ALL INDIA COUNSELLING - To break it asking lakhs. Why is this needed ? When there is not much of infrastructure and not much of intake into the system why does the govt need to enforce this bond for PG students.
With the 50% reservation and upto 30% extra marks .- Most of the state seats will be grabbed by the existing service doctors - that should be enough numbers to fill in the vacant posts of specialists every year - then why should the government enforce the bond on students entering via All India ?
When the state is so cautious about claiming health as a state affair and forcing 4000+ MBBS doctors outside the state every year, not sure how it is justifiable !
