A wide spectrum of radiographic findings has been described in candida pneumonia

A wide spectrum of radiographic findings has been described in candida pneumonia. Appearances may be indistinguishable from that of bacterial pneumonia with lobar or segmental consolidation. Diffuse bilateral alveolar or mixed alveolar-interstitial shadowing may be seen. Candida pneumonia may present as multiple small pulmonary abscesses; these may be randomly distributed if hematogenous spread has occurred or peribronchiolar when resulting from aspiration. A miliary−nodular pattern has also been described in pulmonary candidiasis, and diffuse pulmonary hemorrhage is also recognized as a manifestation in few cases.
