Bunina bodies are small eosinophilic intraneuronal inclusions in motor neurons.
They are considered as a specific pathologic hallmark of amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS).
Bunina bodies contain two proteins
a) Cystatin C
b ) Transferrin.
Bunina bodies are formed due to abnormal misfolding of proteins.
