Hi guys! I got my OET results back yesterday and it was a pass!!!
I took 4 IELTS prior to OET, with 6,5 on writing everytime. I passed the OET on my first try. It really is worth it as it’s way easier to study (more enjoyable) and more fair in my opinion.
I took 2 weeks to prepare for the test. Kaplan book helped (only read the speaking and writing bits) but also bought another one from amazon (OET Updated Prep Plus for Doctors- 2019 edition). I also got private lessons on an app called Verbling with an Australian nurse. We had 6 lessons of 1 hour each and she helped me with speaking and writing. I wrote about 2 referral letter a day.

I also watched all OET E2 Language videos on YouTube and thought they were quite helpful.

I paid Benchmark to mark 4 of my letters but I don’t think their feedback is that good.

I didn’t study reading or listening much as they were never a problem to me on IELTS. Only did the two free practice exams OET offers on their website.

So just wanted to say: go for OET if you’re struggling with IELTS writing!!!

Good luck for everyone!
