Advice ! It’s been 500 days since my surgery. I completely blew ACL and had a hamstring and cadavergraph created and screwed) I’m 42 and have played sports my whole life. I still can’t jump or run- stand in too long of lines hurts, cooking dinner hurts (so I prop my leg on counter) nerve damage was caused during surgery . My knee hurts 24/7
If In brace I can do a little more with less pain. Which I didn’t sign up to be in a brace the rest of my life. This has changed my whole life and what I enjoy has been taken from me.
I do PT 2x a week (cash and costly)
I’ve gotten a second opinion and MRI a month ago from steadman in vail.
They said:
There is not ONE thing
-
bone spur on hamstring
-
slight scar tissue
-
knee cartilage has been depleted
-
quad and ham still atrophy (even though I’m
I’m the gym 3- 4x times a week )
-
mystery spot
-
graph seems to be entangling (not sure why)
They recommended
- going on pain killers
-
Cut back on bike and focus on weights to build muscle to see if that relieves any of the pain
-
Injections for the cartilage
-
Surgery to go and remove bone spur scar tissue injected to the cartilage and check out the mystery spot as they’re in there
-
A whole new graph
Positive note: I can now kneel slightly and do some yoga
Had anyone else experienced anything like this?
What would you do
