Passing the AMC exam is not just about what you know or your qualifications and experience

Passing the AMC exam is not just about what you know or your qualifications and experience. It is also about understanding and embracing Australian culture and knowing how to communicate in an Australian medical environment. What is considered common professional practice in one culture is often vastly different from another. The AMC Finishing School takes what you know and allows you to present it in a way that is congruent with Australian medical practice and culture. The course is not meant to replace the study of core topics as outlined in the AMC Clinical handbook. We outline core communication skills that are assessed as part of the clinical exam and provide practical advice on how to demonstrate these skills during each of the 16 clinical stations.
