37weeks 01day by LMP, previous scans adequate growth as per LMP.
Current scan:
Effective fetal wt and fetal AC is less than 3 centile.
AFI: 8 to 9 cm.
Reduced PI MCA.
Maintained forward diastolic flow in umbilical artery.
Mean PI uterine arteries is within normal limits.
Ductus PI is normal.
Myocardial performance index is pathological.
Reduced E/ A ratio.
MPI is a marker for global cardiac function and shows early adaptation to disease states.
It is affected early in the course of fetal hypoxemia.
MPI is prolonged in IUGR fetuses even with forward flow in the umbilical artery.
Thus confirming it’s an early marker for fetal compromise.
