Blood supply of thyroid gland
• anterior,medial and lateral surface:- superior thyroid artery which is a branch of external carotid artery.
•base and posterior surface of the thyroid gland :- inferior thyroid artery which is branch of thyrocervical trunk coming from 1st part of subclavian artery.
•thyroid ima artery which is coming from brachiocephalic trunk or arch of aorta directly .
•superior , middle and inferior thyroid vein:- tributaries of internal jugular vein
• inferior thyroid vein:- tributary of brachiocephalic vein .
