A 50 yo woman who was treated for breast cancer 3 yrs ago now presents with increase thirst
and confusion. She has become drowsy now. What is the most likely metabolic abnormality?
Hypocalcemia is an oncological emergency that occurs in patients with wide-spread bone metastases.
Patients complainof thirst, drowsiness and constipation. There will be hypercalcemia and dehydration.
Treatment is by IV fluids, furosemide, prednisolone and biphosphonates.
