Do we have enough active pharmaceutical ingredients for all people in need of DTG?
There is little or no risk of shortages of active pharmaceutical ingredients for DTG in the next 18 months. The available capacity is estimated to be 3 times higher than the predicted demand in 2018. This analysis may mask some risk during the next 6–8 months, as manufacturers, donors and national programmes assess how quickly national programmes will transition and roll out their guideline changes. Managing the expectations of the potential speed of these transitions will be important for people living with HIV, country programmes and manufacturers.
