Plz I have heard that birth control has many side effects, is bleeding one of them? And if so how can it be stopped? Don’t know the name but it’s an injection that’s supposed to last 3 months, Depo povera injection.
Depo Provera is a progesterone only injectable preparation. Meaning it is an injectable birth control method which contains progesterone (a hormone) only.
It is given every 12 weeks and acts for long. It acts by thickening the mucus lining of the cervix hence inhibiting sperm penetration, they also suppress ovulation (release of egg) and make the uterus (womb) unfavorable.
Most progesterone only contraceptives are associated with the following side effects:

changes in menstrual cycle = some people will bleed daily others will have light to no menstrual bleeding.

weight gain or weight loss.
-increase body hair (hirsutism), acne, headache, painful breast and bloating.
- seriouse but rare side effects include bone loss, allergic reactions or depression.
It is worth noting that each contraceptive method has its pros and cons. So choose that which favors you the most.
