  1. Either you have worked in the department for atleast a month or so during internship and absolutely fell in love with it (best choice)

2)Based on rank and available options you have a very strong gut feeling that you will survive.

Once either of the criteria is met you are sure to excel in whatever you opt for.

There’s a third category where people learn to like the branch after opting for it.
