Intel has launched Hala Point, the world’s largest neuromorphic computer

Intel has launched Hala Point, the world’s largest neuromorphic computer, initially deployed at Sandia National Laboratories in New Mexico.

Mimicking the human brain’s processing, it aims to boost AI research by processing information 50 times faster and using 100 times less energy than traditional systems.

Powered by Intel’s Loihi 2 neuromorphic processor, Hala Point packs 1,152 processors and supports up to 1.15 billion artificial neurons and 128 billion synapses.

It’s intended for advanced scientific computing tasks, paving the way for more sustainable AI applications in various fields.
