Minimum and maximum concentration of urine occurs in which part of the nephron in-

  1. Absence of Adh

  2. Presence of adh.

Very interesting question 😊Let’s understand simply…

For concentration of urine we need sodium and urea… For dilution we need water…

❤️Irrespective of presence or absence of ADH… PCT can’t be the answer… Why?? Because equal amounts of sodium and water absorbed here (70%)

🧡30 percent of water and sodium come and we have a counter current system operating here in LOOP OF HENLE… Maximum concentration happens in descending loop and maximum dilution happens in ascending loop(Irrespective of presence or absence of ADH)

💛Still less amount goes to DCT and it doesn’t have the selective permeability for water and sodium like LOH…

💚Very very less amount of water and sodium reaches collecting duct… Remember that ADH needs intact counter current system in LOH to perform concentration function… It also recirculates UREA to LOH

💓Verdict - Irrespective of presence of ADH or absence of ADH… Maximum concentration - Descending loop of Henle… Maximum dilution - Thick ascending loop of Henle…

💘Bonus for reading so far this text - Maximum acidification of urine happens in collecting duct 😉

thank you so much sir. This really helped
