NEET Exam 2018: Do not fall victim to touts and agents

New Delhi: The National Board of Examinations (NBE) that conducted NEET-PG 2018 on January 7 for admission to MD/MS/PG Diploma courses has now approached the Delhi Police for help. The board went ahead to do this after a lot of complaints were filed that several fraud touts were tempting candidates in order to get high ranks for money.
The NBE is an autonomous body of the health ministry and had conducted NEET-PG 2018 for admission to MD/MS/PG Diploma courses.
“The NBE has received complaints that tout and agents are alluring and misleading the candidates to help them in securing a good merit position or marks if money is paid to them,” the agency said.

The board has decided to take the matter very seriously and filed a complaint with the cyber cell, area police and the crime branch of Delhi Police.

It has also cautioned all the candidates not to fall for any false and bogus claims.

The NBE said it has declared the results of NEET-PG 2018 for the 1,28,917 candidates who appeared for the exam on January 23.
“In the result, the NBE has provided the marks obtained by each candidate. Tie-breaking of candidates having same marks and the same number of correct responses in NEET-PG 2018 shall be done on the basis of marks obtained in the MBBS professional exams,” it said.

Unlike the previous NEET-PG and AIPGMEE this time only date of birth was not utilized as a tie-breaking criterion.

Since candidates were entering incorrect MBBS marks in the online application form and in order to ensure that the tie-breaking is accurate, the NBE this time has given a one-time last chance to all candidates to make corrections in their MBBS marks online.

“The NBE shall also publish the number of questions attempted correctly and incorrectly by the candidates at the time of declaration of the merit list,” it added.
