Sympathectomy reduces pain?

sympathectomy reduces pain?

Lumbar sympathectomy decreases the sympathetic outflow and thereby leads to vasodilation and increased blood supply to peripheral areas of limb.

This perfusion may help in relieving the pain in PAD.

Ritwik Sahoo Sir doesn’t it have any connection with the Type C fibres?

Also as vasodilation occurs causing increased perfusion so why sympathectomy is contraindicated in case of intermittent claudication and done only in rest pain as told in surgery?

Sir Can you please explain this

thank you
