Toric Intraocular Lens
→ Spherocylindrical lens to correct pre-existing corneal astigmatism.
→ Dotted markings on optic of the IOL indicate the axis of IOL and it is aligned to coincide with the steep axis of the patient’s eye.
→ Toric IOL are made of hydrophobic & hydrophilic acrylic, silicone & PMMA.
→ For every, 10 of misalignment, about 3% of lens cylinder power is lost.
→ Misalignment of >100 is regarded as indication for surgical repositioning
