This is Nihaal Singh Adarsh, a 19-year-old engineer. Upon seeing the suffering of his doctor-mother, he developed a belt-like wearable ventilation system for PPE kits.
He is a second-year student of KJ Somaiya College of Engineering, Mumbai and has named this compact device - Cov-Tech Ventilation System. It comes with a lithium-ion battery that lasts for 6 to 8 hours.
Nihaal’s mother, Dr. Poonam Kaur Adarsh, is a doctor who has been treating COVID-19 patients at her clinic in Pune and seeing her suffering in PPE suits, the young engineer invented this innovative solution to keep her cool.
