Updates in ligating arteries in thyroid surgery..?

Updates in ligating arteries in thyroid surgery…?

Ligation of superior thyroid artery close to the gland to spare external laryngeal nerve and selective ligation of branches of inferior thyroid artery also closed to the capsule of gland to spare blood supply to parathyroid gland as almost all blood supply to parathyroid is by ITA… though chances of surgical injury to RLN is higher in later.

Is there any other update on this?

Jai sir in surgery tnd told that both superior and inferior we prefer ligating individual branches rather than main artery.

In sup main artery can be ligated

In inferior we never ligate the main artery

Thank you sir…
