Send them to school in a mask

Many schools in my area have started or are starting this week - several with “mask optional” guidelines and no social distancing in place like last year. This, I fear, is a recipe for disaster.
Not only are we seeing an increase in cases right now, but so many kids have such mild symptoms that parents think “it’s just a cold” so these kiddos aren’t being tested and isolated which is allowing this highly contagious variant to continue to spread throughout our community.
Even if your child HAS been vaccinated, it’s still recommended that they wear a mask because they can still conract and spread disease. My fully vaccinated daughter is wearing her mask (even though her school has chosen to disregard the advice of @cdcgov @ameracadpeds @ohiodepartmentofhealth & @hamcohealth ) because she wants to protect those around her.
So please, #wearamask - encourage your children to wear a mask - and call your pediatrician if your child exhibits ANY symptoms of COVID so they can be tested.
