Why ENT is so underrated branch? Is this branch has less earning potential?
Because majority nowadays are impatient. ENT as a branch requires lot of patience, descipline and dedication to master.
ENT was underrated In India not in USA/UK.
Problem with ENT was Microscope/Endoscopy unit was introduced very late in medical colleges of India specially peripheral ones(1990s). But that’s not the case right now.
If ur college has the infrastructure and patients then its not a problem.
After all who will do Tympanoplasty/cortical Mastoidectomy/Tonsillectomy/Septoplasty/FESS/Skull Base surgery/thyroidectomy/ Head and Neck Cancers/Micro Laryngoscopic Surgery/Airway Surgeries/ Rhinoplasty also etc etc
Allergy/Obstructive Sleep Apnea Surgeries/Vertigo clinics etc are new scopes of ENT people.
ENT has lot of scope, the criteria is u should have patience and supportive medical college in PG and SR/Fellowship time.
